The winner of Le Mans 1991 was the #55 Mazda 787B, driven by Volker Weidler, Johnny Herbert and Bertrand Gachot. It was the first overall victory at Le Mans by a Japanese manufacturer and also the first win for a car powered by a rotary engine.
